Национальное и региональное сотрудничество по борьбе с браконьерством и незаконной торговлей и сокращению незаконного спроса является основным принципом сохранения снежного барса.

Конкретные действия включают создание потенциала правоохранительных органов, создание общинных сетей по борьбе с браконьерством, усиление законодательства и образование для сокращения незаконного спроса.

Несколько хороших практик показывают, как усиление правоприменения и строгие меры наказания за браконьерство и общественные анти-браконьерские сети и другие способы привлечения местных сообществ могут уменьшить браконьерство.
