The Pallas’s Cat International Conservation Alliance (PICA) is the first and only project dedicated to Pallas’s cat conservation on a global scale. It was established in 2016 and is a collaboration between Nordens Ark, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland and Snow Leopard Trust with funding from Fondation Segré. PICA’s main focus is on capacity building, awareness, facilitating collaboration, and implementing global conservation actions for the Pallas’s cat. The project is conducted in cooperation with the Manul Working Group, field-teams, range country experts and the IUCN SSC Cat Specialist Group. The snow leopard and the Pallas’s cat share much of their geographic home range. Consequently, they face similar threats and the benefits of addressing threats to the snow leopard and their habitats will be easily extended to the Pallas’s cat and vice versa.
