Encounters with Snow Leopards

People and snow leopards share space across the range. This can lead to a number of human-snow leopard interactions. More information on managing unusual encounters with snow leopards can be found in the policy brief prepared by GSLEP here.

Through this portal, we collect information on all encounters with snow leopards. These encounters can range from sightings of one or more snow leopards, coming across abandoned cubs, injured snow leopards or instances where snow leopards have killed livestock.

Using information generated with your help, we will be able to identify hotspots of negative interactions, and potentially estimate snow leopard distribution using the occupancy framework.
