The Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection (GSLEP) Program is pleased to announce the 2nd Steering Committee Meeting, to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal, on January 19-20, 2017.

The Steering Committee Meeting will be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel Soaltee in Kathmandu. Meeting Goals:

  1. Review the status of finalizing the management plans for the priority snow leopard landscapes, including issues of readiness for their effective implementation;
  2. Review progress with the GSLEP project portfolio development and determine further needs and mechanisms for resource mobilization, including but not limited to the GEF, climate funds, private sector and other funding agencies;
  3. Review new proposals for a broad-based alliance to enhance frontline capacity in research and monitoring across the snow leopard range, and a campaign to understand and address illegal wildlife trade in snow leopards across the range;
  4. Develop ministerial guidance for the preparation of a high-level agenda for the proposed 2017 Snow Leopard Summit.
